Hi, I’m Sofía
I have trained in many different athletic disciplines, gymnastics, long distance running, rock climbing, paragliding, snowboarding… and I have maintained a daily Ashtanga Yoga asana practice for eighteen years. That practice guides me through the seasonal changes in my own body and in life itself. As a mother, I spent my first seven years postpartum immersed in the world of pre and postnatal care as a traditional birth worker.
My sessions begin with me, feeling free, clear, strong, and connected to myself. I practice supreme self-care and holistic energy management so I can show up fully for you. My sessions range from energetic and nourishing light touch, Hawaiian Lomi Lomi on land and Aquatic Bodywork in the water, to deep and profound myofascial barefoot deep tissue.
I am devoted to listening to you and your specific needs. Together we create a session for how you are feeling that day and in your life as a whole. I am a trauma informed therapist, I understand the complex nature we all carry, and I work to integrate all parts of your experience into your treatment. My deepest intention is always the same: that you leave feeling more whole, more at home in your body, and more empowered in yourself.
I am a licensed massage and bodywork therapist based in Santa Fe, New Mexico (NM MT-2024-0265 and Florida LMT MA 81450). I have been practicing massage therapy since 2007, and have been devoted to professional and personal growth every step of the way.
My offerings are rooted in the ancestral wisdom of Traditional Mexican Medicine, Curanderismo, Yoga and Ayurveda, Traditional Hawaiian Medicine, and intelligent and joyful somatic practices. Everything I do is in service of one thing, helping you feel whole, embodied, and empowered in your own life.
I am Mexican born and raised, mother to an amazing seven year old son, wife to a beautiful man, Ashtanga yoga practitioner and facilitator, a follower of the Sundance Path, seed keeper, and professionally trained chef. I am multilingual and I approach people through my deeply dynamic upbringing and multicultural understanding of the world.
